The Europe's first private operator, NTV (Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori) is the Italian high speed rail network and the first operator to use the Alstom's AGV (Automotrice Grande Vitesse) train "Italo", AGV currently holds the high speed train record of 574.8 km/h on 3 April 2007, However they will travel at 300 km/h - the maximum allowed speed on the Italian rail network. NTV was created by four Italian businessmen including Ferrari head Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. They are planning to get in service by March 2012.
