類似点が多い事等からドゴンの人々は紀元前3,200年以前にエジプトから移り住んだのではという説があります。ドゴンの伝説には恒星シリウスに関する物があるといわれています。そのひとつに地球から肉眼でみる事が出来ないシリウスの伴星シリウスB (ポ トロ)の存在、そしてそれの公転周期が50年で自転する白色矮星で非常に重い金属からできているなど現代天文学に引けを取らない知識があったのではとも言われています。本当に天文学の知識があったのでしょうか？それとも単なる偶然？もしくは伝説を誤って解釈したのか？どう思います？？
The Dogon are believed to be of Egyptian decent by many people. Their astronomical lore goes back thousands of years to 3200 BC. According to their ancient traditions, the star Sirius has a companion star, Sirus B (Po Tolo), which is invisible to the human eye. This companion star has a 50 year elliptical orbit around the visible Sirius and is extremely heavy. It also rotates on its axis. Did they really have extraordinary astronomical knowledge or misinterpreted or a just another strange coincidence? What do you think?
